FLORERÍA ATLÁNTICO COCKTAIL BAR

A FLOWER SHOP at Avda. del Marquès de l’Argentera 19 (Barcelona) hides the gastronomic universe of Florería Atlántico. 

The tour begins on the ground floor, in the restaurant Brasero Atlántico, and continues behind a refrigerator door that leads downstairs to Florería Atlántico, the award-winning cocktail bar.

Both spaces show case the essence of the renowned Buenos Aires bar and pay ho- mage, in Barcelona’s Born district, to the Mediterranean countries that have provided so many migrants that enriched Argentina’s cul- ture. 

Tato Giovannoni (founder of Florería Atlántico in Buenos Aires, World’s Best Bartender in 2020 and industry icon in 2023 according to The World’s 50 Best Bars) and Diego Cabrera (founder of Salmon Guru, #16 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023) are leading the project together with Alex Resnik, entrepreneur and hospitality expert.

 

Going through the fridge door leads you to one of the best cocktail bars in the world, according to The World’s 50 Best Bars. To be sure, the menu of Tato Giovannoni’s team is seductive.

The liquid tour of the Mediterranean can take you through Spain (Tempranillo, mushroom Pedro Ximénez, Ratafia Russet and paprika water), continue in Syria (Calvados, goat’s milk, dates, mint and apple juice) and finish in Egypt (Gin, chamomile, loquats and Egyptian herbs), among other options. All drinks are made with ingredients with denomination of origin and local produce and are served in vessels and glassware inspired by each place.

Of course, the classics of Florería Atlántico Buenos Aires are also available: the iconic Negroni Balestrini (Príncipe de los Apóstoles gin lightly smoked with eucalyptus) or the Saint Marthe (rosé wine, lemon, lavender and Ricard) are musts.

In addition, the cocktail menu includes snack options such as smoked sardines in paprika oil, pickled lamb tongue or spider crab pie.

TATO GIOVANNONI
His studies in design, advertising art and cinema have made Tato Giovannoni focus on every element that makes up his projects, so that everything communicates. He made his debut with Florería Atlántico in Buenos Aires (2013), where he reflects his profound thalassophilia: traction and intense love for the oceans and seas, also known as sailor's fever.
Keen to expand, Giovannoni opened the Brasero Atlántico restaurant in September 2015. A year later came Chori, an innovative street food concept; and in 2020 he published Coctelería Argentina: El mar de Tato. That same year he was named Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award 2020 by his fellow professionals and Industry Icon in 2023 by The World’s 50 Best Bars
Diego Cabrera
DIEGO CABRERA
Argentino de nacimiento y madrileño por elección, Diego Cabrera es el alma mater De Salmon Guru. Inquieto, poco convencional y creativo, es también el artífice del éxito de la insólita taberna Viva Madrid y del espacio de innovación Guru Lab. En 2022 inició su expansión internacional con Salmon Guru Dubai, a la que siguieron en 2024 Salmon Guru Milano y Dragon Experience Factory, un centro de producción y fábrica de hielo artesanal.
Diego es una de las figuras más influyentes en el mundo de la coctelería (según Drinks International) y, entre sus reconocimientos personales, destacan el Premio Nacional de Gastronomía otorgado por la Real Academia Española y el reconocimiento de la Academia Madrileña de Gastronomía.
